| Right in your living room, in your den, in your office or out on your patio, Chip 2 Score makes development of a perfect golf swing-plane easy. The 20 X 22 inch canvas training tool permits the golfer to set up 36 to 42 inches from the target and stroke a regulation golf ball into a 3 inch bulls-eye. The ball is returned to you to repeat the same stroke. The stroke is made with a 7 iron and strikes the ball with a minimum of force, only enough energy to propel a golf ball 55 feet if chipped onto a level green. Since standing only 36 inches from target, ball strikes canvas or enters bulls-eye and, in both cases, is returned to the golfer. Can make 25 practice strokes in 5 minutes with no fatigue factor. Target is large enough that only positive thoughts register yet the accuracy factor is such that confidence in your grip is assured. If you strike the ball, and it goes through the bulls-eye, your grip accuracy factor is within 7 yards of target at 200 yards. If chipping the ball, at 85 feet, you would be on a line within 1 ½ feet of either side of the pin. Since you are developing the tempo for repeating an exact stroke for distance that repeats itself time after time, you develop confidence on your ability to hit a given distance. Spending 20-30 five-minute sessions a week will give you the confidence, the distance and the accuracy to get up and down from around the greens at least 80% of the time. That result leads to a 15 to 25% reduction in your handicap. You’ll hit longer drives, too. A further training method, that I developed, was to use an 8 iron, 9 iron, wedge, sand wedge or lob wedge from the 36 inch distance up to 84 inches and attempt to lob the chosen club with the feel that would propel the golf ball above the horizon of the target bulls-eye so that the ball would fall through the bulls-eye. My friends and I became adapt at it and would compete against each other like we used to play H_O_R_S_E with a basketball when we were kids. Chip 2 Score is a great teaching tool. Whether the student is a toddler, preschooler, teen or adult, developing the mini-swing and swing path before going next to ½ shots, then to ¾ shots and finally to the full shot seems to result in developing fewer bad habits than the old method of handing the novice a driver and then standing back and watching the dismal display of trying to guide the club-head through 28 to 30 feet of open space before arriving back at where that little white ball sets awaiting a variety of miss-hits.
