Where did you get your golf grip? Is your grip the right grip for you? Are you hitting the ball as accurately as you would like? Are you getting the distance on your drives you think you deserve? Does your grip permit you to draw, fade or hit the golf ball straight when that is the action you want to put on the golf ball? How can you find out? Now, you can find whether your grip is the one that is right for you. This search will not have a negative effect on your present golf game. This fact was proven to me when, as a senior, I became aware that I wasn't hitting the ball as far as I once did. I thought that, just maybe, I could use a baseball grip and get more distance. I had been using Chip 2 Score for several months and had improved my ball striking ability and lowered my handicap. I had knocked 6 strokes off my handicap by chipping a golf ball into a specially designed target in my office from a distance of just three feet. I had become very adapt at hitting those chip shots and my confidence soared. The years rolled by and I, with my lower handicap, continued my great love affair with the game of golf. Twenty years later, I felt that, I needed more distance. During the coming winter months, when it was to wet and to cold for much golf, I made the change to the baseball grip. Was change on the way? I continued hitting a 100 chip shots through the chipping tool each night, the only difference was that half of those chip shots were with the new baseball grip. I played a couple of rounds of golf during the winter but I stuck with my over-lapping grip. When spring came and regular golf was resumed I started hitting alternate shots with both grips. I couldn't tell any difference. I would like to say that I started hitting the ball with more gusto, that I was able to draw and hook the ball with more confidence but, the truth is, I started having some hip problems and a little arthritis got into the act so I wasn't able to give it a true test. If I were starting out as a new golfer today I would use Chip 2 Score to test each grip. I learned that using the grips was just a new game. Once my hands became familiar and comfortable with the new grip, and when I had developed confidence and had seen the results in a crisp and accurate stroke, it was natural to hit the golf ball with one swing just as well as the other. I know that a person could use all the grips, if the golfer had first mastered each grip, using Chip 2 Score. A person could test each to see which of the grips would be best for the golfer to use to hit a draw, to hit a fade, to chip with or hit shots from a 100 yards in because that grip had been tried and tested to be best for him. Remember: their is the Vardon Over-lap, the Inter-locking and the Baseball grip, plus you have the Semi-baseball, and the variance of long thumb and short thumb on the other grips. I OFFER YOU A CHALLENGE: If you are not completely satisfied with your results in distance, hitting draws and fades ,at will, or your accuracy from a 100-120 yards in, try my theory of using different grips for different desired results. If you have more confidence in hitting a draw, when needed, with a particular grip use it; if you feel you need the long ball and a particular grip gives you extra distance, use it; and, if you feel that you can stuff those shots from a 100-120 yards in with more accuracy from a particular grip, use it. Good Golfing. I'd like to know the results you have in an adventure I can't make. Please send me an email to: jimr.angelwatch@comcast.net . -Jim Rounsavell, Inventor of Chip-2-Score |
